Call for papers

Abstract presentations

All abstracts should be submitted by 15. 9. 2012. You should be registered before submitting a paper.
Submitted abstracts will be anonymously peer reviewed, scored and allocated to oral or poster sessions. Scientific program sessions will be formulated around accepted free communication and invited special lectures chosen to compliment this material. Abstract acceptance will be  confirmed by 20. 9. 2012.

All abstracts must be submitted via the official Symposium online submission system
(http://prenat2012-registration.upol.cz/site/registration/login.php).

Presentation categories

All abstracts will be considered for short oral or poster presentation. Authors may indicate if they are unable to present their paper as an oral presentation. All presentations will be in PowerPoint format only. Full specifications for both oral or poster presentation will be available on the website and forwarded to authors after abstract acceptance.

Reproduction of accepted abstracts

Abstracts that have been accepted for presentation will be published as a supplement to “Biomedical papers“ it is the journal of Palacky University, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Olomouc, Czech Republic. It includes reviews and original papers relevant to all biomedical disciplines, clinical case reports and topical healthcare issues.By submitting your abstract you automatically agree to transfer the copyright to the  Biomedical papersshould your abstract be accepted.
The author will be notified whether an abstract has been accepted by the end of September 2012. At that time the authors will be given full details of the timing of his or her presentation.
In order to submit your abstract, fill in all required information:

  • Abstract must be written in clear and incise English.
  • Author’s conflict of interest declaration is included.
  • SI units are used.
  • Numbers have decimal points, no commas.
  • Acknowledgement.

The structured abstract (<3500 characters including spaces), should contain:

  1. Aims (a clear statement of the objectives of the paper),
  2. Methods (a brief description of the major methodological approaches including study design, where appropriate),
  3. Results (a clear summary of the research results, numerical and statistical data where appropriate and inclose relationship to the Aims of the paper) and
  4. Conclusions (a sentence or two providing the implications of the results for practice or further research). The abstract of a review should condense the essential features of the review with the focus on the major advances in the field (for details see Appendix to „Instructions to Authors“ http://biomed.papers.upol.cz).
